What we collect
- Information you give us through the claim and contact forms: your name, phone number, email, address, postcode, preferred contact method, the type of problem and anything you write in the message box.
- Testimonials you choose to submit, including your name and town. Your email is kept private and used only to verify the review.
- Technical information recorded automatically when you visit: the pages you view, the time, the website that referred you, your IP address and browser type. We use this for first-party website statistics and security; no advertising cookies are set.
Why we use it
- To contact you about your enquiry and check whether you have a claim (legitimate interests and, where you ask us to act, performance of a contract).
- To pass your details to the solicitors and surveyors who will handle your claim, with your knowledge.
- To keep the website secure, prevent spam and understand how it is used.
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
Who we share it with
Form submissions are emailed to our team and, where we work with a partner solicitors' firm, to that firm so they can contact you. We never sell your data. Email and hosting providers process data on our behalf under contract.
How long we keep it
Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry or claim and then for up to six years for legal and regulatory reasons. Statistics are deleted after 400 days.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it or ask us to restrict it. Email info@housingdisrepair.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
